Information efficiency remains a daily challenge for some, but it happens to be our specialization. Webdashboard is part of In Summa. As a Microsoft Gold Partner In Summa works on solutions in the area of Business Intelligence, Software Development and Data Analytics. These 3 powerful specialisms make up our core competency.
With this competence in house, the Webdashboard team is able to get great feedback. Every part of the Webdashboard is designed to make sure the insights the Power BI reports deliver are always central in our decision making proces.
When thinking about features, a common phrase that is used is ‘Less is more’. In a Business Intelligence Portal that has to be able to show one to hundreds of reports, that’s a challenge. You’ll need a lot of flexibility to tailor the optimal portal, that fits the need of every customer.
Here we made the decision that for a Portal Administrator ‘Less is less’. He must to be able to finetune every aspect of the portal. The goal we have for the Portal Administrator is to make sure all the available options are easy to find and simple to use.
For users of the portal we went for ‘Less is more’. Every feature we ask ourselves: Does a user need to edit this. It’s always almost ‘no’. This leaves users with a clean interface with almost no buttons that could distract from accessing the insights he is looking for.
Insights are important, but sharing and talking about these insights with you co-workers and customers are a vital part of making a succesfull Power BI environment.
Our goal in collaboration is that reports must be accessible by anyone at anytime. Here we don’t limit ourselves to Webdashboard Portal or Mobile App. Direct links to reports in E-mails or embedding them in the application the report adds the most value are also important.
We accomplish this with simplified a usermanagement and security model. Every design decision we make needs to fit this model. This way access to a report is configured on the same place, no matter where and to whom the report is shared.
As the CEO of In Summa I saw an opportunity to make Power BI even better. Every customer we implemented Power BI for had the same type of questions. With Webdashboard In Summa created a powerful tool developed to solve real problems that our customers experienced with Power BI Services.
As the product owner for the Webdashboard team, I’ll be your contact for all impovements and new features. My main goal is to bring the best experience and if you have any suggestions don’t hesitate to call.
Let us change our traditional attitude to the construction of programs. Instead of imagining that our main task is to instruct a computer what to do, let us concentrate rather on explaining to human beings what we want a computer to do. Programming can be fun, so can cryptography; however they should not be combined. ~ Martijn Giltay
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. ~ Albert Einstein
