Data warehouse & OLAP: through ETL the data is transferred periodically so that the operational systems don’t get disrupted. The data warehouse stores all the relevant management information. OLAP provides speed and analytical possibilities to get the information out there. The naming + intelligence of your system is centrally stored here.
